 Meditation: Mindfulness for daily living

Throughout the world T’ai Chi is practiced for its physical and mental health benefits, however, there are forms of T’ai Chi that are specifically designed to facilitate spiritual transformation and awakening. In this workshop participants will learn a T’ai Chi routine reputed to have been created at Wudang Mountain in the 13th century by the legendary Taoist Master Chang San Feng. This routine, rarely taught in the west, is composed of two interconnected Tai Chi forms which are believed to synthesize Heaven Qi, Earth Qi and the Qi of the body in a way that facilitates spiritual awareness and a natural opening of the Tao within. Complementing these forms are various Taoist meditations designed to enhance harmony, balance and tranquility.Appropriate for beginning and advanced participants alike, these easy-to-learn, graceful movements can be done by anyone regardless of age or physical condition. A $10 material fee is payable to the presenter at the first meeting. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or a towel.
