Learn to coil a delicate basket around a polished stone. It’s an easy way to start a basket and makes a beautiful center. You will learn to coil so that the stitches are identical on both sides of the basket; some participants may learn more advanced stitches. Pine needles and waxed linen thread are provided. The coiling technique can later be used to weave almost any plant in your yard including lavender, dusty miller and rosemary. This program is suitable for beginners or experienced basketmakers. A $30 material fee is payable at the workshop. Material fee includes large spool of Irish waxed linen thread, handout, darning needle, mounted cabochon, and sorted/washed pine needles.
