Meditation: Mindfulness for Daily Living


In today’s world we live at a breakneck pace that contributes to the stress that has become part of the human condition. However, there is an antidote – living mindfully. This workshop will not only help students develop a daily meditation practice, but also apply the basic principles of mindfulness to the activities of everyday life. Living mindfully we learn to reside in the present moment, handle stress, fear and anxiety more effectively, and approach all the experiences of our lives in a more relaxed, centered and compassionate manner. While this workshop provides an excellent introduction to mindfulness for beginners, it is also appropriate for more advanced students who are looking to revitalize their practice. Moreover, it is not necessary to affiliate with any belief system in order to benefit. The mindfulness practices used in this workshop can support your existing spiritual path, or simply your personal quest for answers to the great questions of human existence. A $10 materials fee is payable to the presenter at the first meeting. Wear comfortable clothing.

Presenter: Diana Shakarian – Holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology and has taught at the university level for over 15 years. She has been a student of Eastern philosophy and energy arts since 1974. A certified Reiki practitioner, Diana practices T’ai Chi, Qigong and meditation daily.
